Community Type: successional (right-of-way) coastal plain wet meadow
Community Description: Panicum virgatum-dominated with other graminoids. Dense vegetation, patchy shrubs and trees (mostly Liquidambar). Wet, sedgy spots, sphagnous. Other graminoids present are Cladium mariscoides, Panicum ensifolium. This area grades into a large stand of Phragmites to the south, then salt marsh. No soil samples taken. When wet conditions prevail, Cladium-dominated areas have standing water. Located in an occassionally mowed powerline cut.
