Community Type: successional (right-of-way) coastal plain wet meadow
Community Description: Low diversity, graminoid-dominated with shrubs, mostly Clethra alnifolia, Cladium mariscoides (over 90%) and Sphagnum. This area grades into a large stand of Phragmites to the south, then salt marsh. No soil samples taken. When wet conditions prevail, Cladium-dominated areas have standing water. Located in an occassionally mowed powerline cut.
