General Landscape Description: Sea level fen, approximately 560' N-S, bordered by Phragmites on E, maple-blackgum woods on the W, holly-juniper-blackgum woods on the S, and maple-dominated swamp on the NE. A short distance to the N, past a ditch and a wooded swamp, is another fen.

Community Description: Wooded swamp between maple-blackgum forest and fen; grading from relatively dry (at edges) to quite wet. Dominant trees are Acer rubrum. To the N, on the other side of a dtich, is another similar swamp, which in turn is adjacent to another sea level fen. Dominant forbs are Carex spp., Thelypteris palustris and Eleocharis tennuis.
Fauna: Terrapin caroliniana, Rana utricularia, red-winged blackbird
