Take Rt 130 to Riverside. Bridgeboro Rd (Rt 613) west (first exit S of bridge over Rancocas Creek). Turn N on Laycock St. Marsh will be along road, south of "Lightning Jack's" marina. Plot is on east side of road.

Community Type: tidal freshwater marsh
General Vegetation/Habitat Description: Muddy tidal shore on the S bank of Rancocas Creek, about 2 miles from the creek mouth, including a marsh dominated by Zizania aquatica; a low, natural levee that is flooded only at high tides and is dominated by shrubs of Salix nigra, with Amorpha fruticosa; and a lower elevation zone that is exposed only at low tides and dominated by Nuphar advena. There is no obvious recent disturbance but there is an abundance of water-borne trash. Marsh area (landward of levee) is generally flat. Shore between levee and river slopes to the water (north).
Community Description: Fresh water tidal marsh on the S bank of Rancocas Creek, about 2 miles from the creek mouth. Marsh is separated from the creek by a low, natural levee that is flooded only at high tides. Slope is generally flat S of the levee. Slope is towards the river on the N. There is no obvious recent human disturbance but there is an abundance of water-borne trash. Zizania aquatica is the dominant plant species, but there is considerable Bidens spp., and some Phragmites around edges.
