Community Type: tidal brackish marsh
General Vegetation/Habitat Description: Brackish marsh extending from the fresh marsh to Landing Creek. Mostly, it is dominated by Spartina cynosuroides with occasional patches of Scirpus (robustus) and a small amount of Phragmites. Soil was not sampled. Marsh is probably regularly flooded. No evident disturbance.
Community Description: Brackish marsh comprised of nearly solid Spartina cynosuroides extending from the far edge of the fresh water marsh (and poorly defined transition zone) to the edge of Landing Creek and beyond. Transition zone appears to be a mix of Eleocharis, Scirpus robustus, and S. cynosuroides. Evidence of tidal flooding is seen on the lower stems of the grasses. No disturbance.
