Observation Narrative ? Community Type: tidal freshwater marsh Community Description: Part of the Hamilton-Trenton marsh complex, located at the N end, at Roebling Memorial Park in Hamilton Township. Tidal marsh located along Watson Creek, which feeds into Crosswicks Creek. Marsh is bordered by a narrow fringe of trees and shrubs (going W to E) then the gravel road, a lawn, and finally mesic woods. Marsh itself is almost all Nuphar advena, with a small amount of Polygonum punctatum bordering the creek. On the other side of Watson Creek, a small tree and shrub island is bordered by Zizania aquatica. Several patches of Polygonum punctatum are scattered throughout. A powerline cut and landfill (surrounded by Phragmites) are evidence of old disturbance - none recent. Some wrack piles are present in the tree-shrub border near the road from spring flooding. Deeper layer of soil is muck.
