Observation Narrative ? Community Type: tidal brackish marsh Community Description: Brackish tidal marsh, adjacent to dike road along E side of impoundment, about 0.4 miles S of Tuckahoe River. Marsh is co-dominated by Phragmites australis and Spartina alterniflora, with patches of Spartina cynosuroides and Typha angustifolia. There are some small creeks and channels. Other than the dike road, there is no sign of human disturbance in the marsh: no mosquito ditches, for instance. Site is obviously tidal. Slope is negligible.
