Community Type: coastal plain pond
Community Description: Herbaceous zone surrounding central area, slightly higher elevation ~15-20m wide, dominated by Decodon verticillatus and Polygonum (smaller tearthumb). This area is characterized by 5' Polygonum trailing through dead Decodon branches. In areas where there is less Decodon, Galium and Hypericum, along with grasses (Leersia and perhaps Muhlenbergia) mix with a much lower growing Polygonum (same species). Cuscuta grows in patches throughout.
