Observation Narrative ? Community Type: coastal plain pond Community Description: Northern herbaceous zone of mostly open muck with no standing water. NW corner dominated by Dulichium. Central area dominated by Eleocharis olivacea. Southern area with abundant Xyris and Eriocaulon. Northern area is a wetter, all muck surface, while southern area has sand on surface. Plot is in Xyris area. Eriocaulon and Xyris transitions into surrounding Carex striata var. brevis zone. Additional species present but not in survey area: Dulichium arundinaceum (35-40% cover in the northern area)
