From Hampton Rd. at Hampton Furnace, cross Batsto Creek and continue 1.1 miles. Turn right towards High Crossing. Park at railroad tracks and follow tracks S about 200'. Ponds are adjacent to tracks on the N side.

Community Type: coastal plain pond (Muhlenbergia torreyana / Rhynchospora fusca community)
Community Description: Herbaceous community found in the N pond only and inundated at the time of the survey. Water is from about 10-20 cm deep throughout. Vegetation is dominated by nearly equal amounts of Muhlenbergia torreyana and Rhynchospora fusca with lesser amounts (on more shallow spots) of Cladium mariscoides. This community is surrounded on all sides by a Cladium mariscoides and mixed graminoids community.
