The site is ~1.4 miles W of Woodmere. From Woodmere, head west on Harmersville Pecks Corner Road about 1 mile to Perry Road. Turn right (north) on Perry. Continue 0.7 miles to the first left and turn. Continue 0.5 miles. Pond is south of the road in a forested patch ~800' within the forest.

General Landscape Description: Oak-hickory-sweetgum forest extends west of the site for less than 1000', with agricultural land surrounding this small patch of forested wetlands. Lower Alloways Creek runs east to west ~2000' north of the site. Patches of forest grow between agricultural lands and along Lower Alloways Creek.

Community Type: coastal plain pond
Community Description: Tall shrub zone dominated by Cephalanthus, with scattered Salix and a cool season grass understory. Water is a few inches deep below the grass. Area is elevated a few inches above the adjacent herbaceous zone, with a barely discernible slope. Channels wind throughout, linking wetter open areas. Species composition changes in more upland areas to include Triadenum, Juncus and Eleocharis.
Other species present but not in plot: Phytolaca americana, Decodon verticillatus, Triadenum virginicum, moss, Juncus sp., Eleocharis ovata, Leersia oryzoides, Lycopus sp., Carex striata, Galium sp.
Fauna: rabbit, small birds, turkey vultures
