Soil Description: organic debris over Carlisle muck
Landscape Description: a +/- 5 acre pond with a deciduous swamp to the north, a calcareous shrub swamp to the east, and a calcareous level fen to the south. Campers activities are mostly on the western side of the pond. The wetlands are all bordered on the south, east, or north by idle calcareous forest. A boardwalk passes through the deciduous swamp, trails are present through the uplands on the north and east sides of the pond. Cabins are on the western side of the pond.

General Description: The site contains a rich limestone upland forest, limestone wetlands, and lake.
Community Description: Fen consists of a large shrub-dominated area (~9 acres) adjacent to a small open fen area (~1 acre). Calciphilic species such as Betula pumila and Potentilla fruticosa are found here. The upland side is bordered by idle calcareous woodland. To the north is a pond which is used for swimming and boating by the camp.
