Observation Narrative |
Community Type: pitch pine-reedgrass savanna
Community Description: Rather dense tree cover of Pinus rigida (68%) suggests this stand was burned less intensely or missed by last fires in 1982 and 1976. Despite this, cover of Calamovilfa brevipilis remains high (58%), perhaps due to immediate proximity of a wet swale with 100% Calamovilfa brevipilis cover. Pocket of pitch pine-inkberry lowland wetland with dense Ilex glabra and Vaccinium corymbosum adjacent also.
Other species present but not in observation area: Vaccinium corymbosum
