Observation Narrative ? Community Description: This is a calcareous shrub carr within an Acer rubrum swamp. Characteristic species include Betula pumila, Toxicodendron vernix, Dasiphora fruticosa ssp. floribunda, Myrica gale, Juniperus virginica, Rhododendron viscosum, Vaccinium corymbosum. Very deep peat. Canopy cover and degree of saturation is variable. This well-developed shrub carr may eventually succeed into A. rubrum swamp.
