Landscape Narrative
Landscape Description: This is part of a large contiguous wetland complex in a small limestone valley bordered by forested limestone uplands (dominated by Fraxinus-cedar lowlands and mature Quercus uplands), mowed fields, and Juniper dominated uplands. Communities within the wetland complex include a large Typha marsh and patches of calcareous fen elements (turfy juniper, marl seep, and Carex stricta). Adjacent cedar areas include many patches of turfy juniper and calcareous cedar woodland.
