Landscape Descrption: The site is situated in a small valley with undulating topography. The fen is a mosaic of successional woodlands, Juniperus woodland, mature forest, and pasture bordered by oak-dominated limestone uplands with recent development. Fen communities present include marl seep, Carex stricta fen, and turfy juniper fen.

Community Description: This is a sloping marl seep (headwater of brook flows through the site). 25% of the site is dominated by Typha. Soil is muck over organic-mineral soil 12+" deep. There is a small Carex stricta area near the back of the community and a small turfy juniper pasture adjacent to the Carex stricta.
