Directions to plot: take road that follows Park's east boundary, SE about 0.15 mi (around bend and past house) and turn right onto road that crosses through a field and into the park. From forest edge, follow road only abut 0.1 mile. Hike about 40 m W to plot location.
Sample represents the stand of subxeric Chestnut Oak forest. Canopy is primarily Quercus prinus with individuals of Quercus alba and Quercus coccinea. The subcanopy is primarily Quercus prinus with some Q. rubra. Tall shrubs are mostly saplings and small trees of the canopy with some Acer rubrum and Nyssa sylvatica. Shrub layer is open. Field layer is sparse with low Vaccinium and no herbs.
Stand is on an upper convex slope near trail. West of sample the stand is more dominated by Quercus alba but with much the same species composition otherwise.
