Directions to plot and tree tag:
From Great Valley Overlook, 0.5mi. N on Parkway. Look for double trunked chestnut oak on left side of road with pink flagging. Conduit has pink pin flag. Double trunked. Tagged tree is a Quercus prinus of 88.45 cm dbh with tag #428. Conduit is at a bearing of 0 degrees and 8 m from tree.
Plot location was selected in the field by DNH Ecologists
Ridgecrest along Parkway dominated by Quercus prinus with Quercus rubra and Carya glabra. Herb layer is graminoid dominated (Calamagrostis porteri ssp. porteri) and Vaccinium stamineum. Very rocky shallow soil. Stunted forest. Grades downslope into chestnut oak forest.
