Observation Narrative ? Plot represents a variant of vegetation sampled in plot BUSH003P and contains much higher cover of Hibiscus moscheutos, which is generally considered characteristic of this community type. Perhaps 90% of aboveground biomass of Typha has already senesced. Plot is bounded on two adjacent sides by lateral channels of Bush Mill Stream and on one side by scattered saplings of Acer rubrum. These trees stand on the fringe of a young, short-statured and poorly developed tidal hardwood swamp forest. Density of Hibiscus appears even higher to the NNW of this plot, across larger of lateral channels which is not traversable by foot. Ca. 10 cm of standing water present at time of sampling. Other species observed outside plot are Echinochloa walteri, Kosteletzkya virginica, and Toxicodendron radicans (abundant on Acer saplings). One dead Acer rubrum is present in plot.
