Bench/Bank just above river. Floodplain as a whole has a variable canopy of Juglans nigra, Liriodendron tulipifera, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Carpinus caroliniana, Carya cordiformis, and Acer negundo. Sample captures mostly Carpinus. Tallest trees are Liriodendron and they tower over (30-33 m) the main canopy of Carpinus (11 m). Moderately dense shrub layer is dominated by Lindera benzoin. Herb layer is moderately dense with Carex the most common species, occurring with Elymus, Geum, Polygonum virginianum, and Viola also with high cover.
