Observation Narrative	The habitat is one of the largest (5+ acres) fresh interdune ponds on Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. The plot represents the central, semipermanently flooded zone, characterized by floating and submerged vascular plants and algae. The community type, characterized by Bacopa monnieri, Eleocharis albida and Potamogeton pectinatus, is rare in Virginia. Plot located in east-central section of large, elongate interdune pond, ca. 1.0 mi southeast of Cherrytree Hill.
