An example of grassy pine "flatwoods" similar to plot CHNR035. This is the most extensive Pinus taeda forest community type on Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. Shrubs are almost absent from this plot, the legacy of frequent prescribed burning in the past.
Plot located just west of service road at a point 0.6 mi SSW of the Will Hole.
