Observation Narrative ? A non-estuarine wetland occupying a broad, shallow interdune basin situated behind a narrow belt of oceanfront dunes. The basin supports a mosaic of community types. Vegetation in this plot is dominated by Typha angustifolia and resembles that of brackish estuaries. Oligohaline to brackish conditions here are probably the result of frequent storm surges. Plot located ca. 0.1 mi west of bike trail at a point 0.8 mi north of beach parking area, at head of low basin.
