Plot location: Northwest slope facing Poe Road, the ridge is parallel to Poe Road.
See plot form for sketch of plot location.
This plot represents the surrounding Oak-Ericad Forest with a Kalmia component. There is a downed Quercus rubra in the plot that may be the result of wind or ice damage: it has left a canopy gap. Gaps occur all along this ridge so the plot is characteristic. The Kalmia is more dense toward the hillcrest and thins downslope. Some of the trees are severely defoliated so ID was difficult and dependent on bark characteristics.
Permanently marked plot.
