Plot location: Off McCarty Loop Trail in the Accotink Bay Marshes. Same area as plots FBMR038 and FBMR039.
See plot form for sketch of plot.
All vegetation was considered herbaceous since there were no stems greater than 2.5. Average height of vegetation, however, is 1 meter, including some over 1 meter. Cover values were admittedly difficult to derive due to dense vegetation layers and overlapping Carex species. Carex comosa is currently the dominant sedge and Salix carolinana is dense. This community grades into a more woody marsh edge, scrub/shrub (like plot FBMR038) community.
