This tidal shrub community is dominated by Alnus serrulata and Leersia oryzoides with some overstory of Fraxinus pennsylvanica. Dominance in the herb layer was different earlier in the season, much of the vegetation is now matted down between the shrubs due to the lateness of the season and animal activity.
