Observation Narrative ? This somewhat sheltered, lower slope supports a magnificent, cathedral-like stand of virgin timber dominated by Tsuga canadensis and Pinus strobus. Unlike nearby similar stands, the hemlocks here have not yet been devastated by the aphid pest Adelges tsugae, but it appears to be only a matter of time. Plot located on lower, northeast-facing slope along Ramseys Draft Left Prong, 0.4 mi northwest of confluence with Right Prong.
