Plot location: ca. 120m. South of North Ditch at a point 0.4 miles WSW of jct. With short ditch. Great Dismal Swamp NWR.
Nutrient Regime: Oligotrophic.
A mixed Pinus taeda- Liquidambar styraciflua - Acer rubrum forest occuring on mineral soil near the northern edge of the Great Dismal Swamp. Similar secondary communities with varying dominance of the three tree species and often with dense Arundinaria gigantea ssp tecta understories, are characteristic of mineral substrates on saturated, non-riverine flats of the Swamp and surrounding region.
