Observation Narrative
The plot documents a mature oak/ heath forest on a xeric ridge crest. Relatively large Quercus montana and Nyssa sylvatica co-dominate in the overstory. Nyssa and Kalmia latifolia are dense in the understory. The stand is floristically depauperate and contains few true herbaceous plants. Leucobryum albidum is a prevalent bryophyte around tree bases.
