Observation Narrative
A zone of a sinkhole peatland herbaceous community which is completely exposed at least part of the year, probably most of the growing season. Hummock and hollow microtopography with up to 30 cm difference in microelevation between hollow bottom and hummock crest. Cephalanthus, Dulichium and Sphagnum are dominant cover. A scum line 20-30 cm above hallow bottoms indicates flooding outside of growing season and/or for short intervals during growing season.
Plot located 15 m S10E from same multi-trunk Acer rubrum shrub as referenced for plot GPNF004.
Soil pit in a hollow.
