Observation Narrative
Fairly extensive forested wetland adjacent to the north, east, and south sides of the open wetland at Horseshoe Swamp. Characterized by an open overstory of Acer rubrum, Nyssa sylvatica, and lesser Quercus palustris, with a well developed ericaceous understory. Carex barrattii and Woodwardia virginica are patch-dominants of a floristically depauperate herb layer.
