Plot location: upland ca. 0.55 miles SE of where the South Anna River crosses the Louisa/Hanover County line.
Field estimate from topo: (UTME): 255475 (UTMN): 4183581.
This plot is located in a shallow, mesic upland concavity and documents a mesophytic forest characterized by Fagus grandifolia in every woody stratum. Quercus alba is the most important overstory associate, while Ilex opaca shares dominance of the shrub layer. Although a number of herbaceous plants and woody seedlings are present in the plot, overall herb cover is sparse.
