Plot location: upland ca. 0.6 miles SE of where the South Anna River crosses Louisa/Hanover County line.
Field estimate from topo: (UTME): 255609 (UTMN): 4183492.
This rather dry upland has a nearly continuous overstory of Quercus alba, with Acer rubrum and Cornus florida most abundant in the understory. Herbaceous plants are sparse and the herb layer is greatly dominated by seedlings of Quercus alba. Excellent recruitment of this oak is also present in the shrub and sub-canopy layers.
