Observation Narrative ? Low sand dune open scrub community. Crest of dune is ca. 1 m higher than eroded peat surface of outside beach and water level in bay at time of sampling (13:30 EDT). Blocks of peat thrown up by waves and tapegrass wrack are scattered around plot. Coloring and organic matter in soil suggest an older dune than that in plot HUGH004P, as does the shrub-dominated community. Center marked with 1" diameter PVC pipe.
