Observation Narrative	A dune grassland. Dune crest is ca. 1 m above water level in bay at time of sampling (14:10 EDT), which is about the same as the eroding peat shelf exposed on the outside of the dune. Occasional blocks of peat in plot. Panicum amarulum more prevalent on dune crest than on back slope. Absence of color in soil core suggests an active or younger dune than that in plot HUGH003P. Semipalmated plover feeding on beach and dune. Two herb strata: Panicum amarulum 180 cm, other grasses and forbs 40 cm. Plot located ca. 150 ft south of plot HUGH003P. Center marked with 1" diameter PVC pipe. One side of plot runs along crest of dune.
