Observation Narrative
A very bouldery northern hardwood forest situated at the foot of a small sandstone cliff capping the western slope of Brumley Mountain. Large specimens of Betula allegheniensis, Acer saccharum var. saccharum, Fraxinus americana and Quercus rubra occur here in a narrow, boulder strewn zone that was not logged as heavily as the gentler slopes of this area.
Upper west slope of Brumley Mountain, ca. 0.8 mi SSE of Low Gap. Plot located at the base of small sandstone cliffs forming the "Brumley Rim," just west of the main access road that runs SSE from Low Gap.
