Observation Narrative ? Plot in a remnant of what once was an excellent turkey oak barrens. Soils are seasonally wet, much like those prevalent at Blackwater Ecological Preserve. The disturbed sandy soil along the railroad supports plants such as Verbascum thapsus, Lupinus perennis, Opuntia humifusa, Lespedeza hirta, Andropogon virginicus and Euphorbia ipecacuanhae. Plot located north of Norfolk and Western railroad, east of Rt. 614 near Zuni.
