Observation Narrative
Plot characterizes one of the more unusual and botanically significant plant communities of the Glenwood Ranger District. This somewhat dangerous cliff like habitat supports a great variety and profusion of plant life, with notable species being Sedum glaucophyllum, Saxifraga michauxii, Ranunculus recurvatus, Fragaria vesca, Crataegus pruinosa and much Climacium americanum, Soil is perennially moist and in places wet due to pronounced lateral drainage down this granitic bedrock slope. Such drainage also probably accounts for fertile conditions. Measured trees (dbh in cm.): Fraxinus americana (26.8).
