Observation Narrative ? Plot location: At western edge of Lake Anna State Park. Along Pamunkey Creek. See form for Habitat sketch. This steep NE-facing hemlock ravine slope is of quite good quality and condition (hemlocks look healthy, the largest Quercus montana has a lightening scar) and occurs next to an inlet of the manmade Lake Anna. The water defines the northeastern edge of the plot and the plot extends to the upper slope of the ravine (technically the lower slope is submerged). Upslope on the ridge crest is a forest of Quercus alba, Quercus montana, Kalmia latifolia.
