Plot location: Swampy depression at E foot of Stuart Hill, ca. 0.25 miles S. of US 29.
No surface rocks present.
The plot is located in a seasonally flooded upland depression that contains open forest/woodland vegetation dominated by old, large Quercus bicolor and a younger cohort of Fraxinus pensylvanica. The herbaceous flora contains a diversity of both mesophytic and obligate wetland species. This habitat is located adjacent to a powerline clearing and historical agricultural lands, and has probably been subject to grazing and other disturbances.
