Observation Narrative
Woody vegetation occupies sides and tops of low hummocks < 1 m high. Herbaceous vegetation occurs in the mucky hollows. Standing water is probably present during most of the growing season in normal years. Due to the drought this year, the hollows are dry. Herbaceous cover may be unusually high this year due to the absence of standing water.
Nyssa biflora in plot measured @ 69 cm dbh.
