Observation Narrative
A typical pine-oak/heath woodland with Buckleya distichophylla with southwestern aspect at Poor Mountain. This community predominates along this slope. Fire scars are evident, but the date of the last fire is unknown. Some snags present; mortality may have resulted from ice damage. Very little regeneration of Pinus pungens observed in stand. Buckleya distichophylla scattered throughout.
From flagged Pinus pungens (35 cm dbh; adjacent to 20 cm Pinus pungens): 7.1 m @ 179 deg to stake A.
