One of the most extensive and well developed pine barren habitats in the northern VA. Blur Ridge. Turkeybeard (Xerophyllum asphodeloides) is abundant and flowers prolifically at this site.
Plot location: Shenandoah National Park, 0.25 mi. west of the west summit peak of Rocky Mountain.
