Observation Narrative
Plot documents a very steep, forested, north-facing bluff with notable woody species diversity. The largest trees in the stand are Quercus montana and Liriodendron tulipifera, with Quercus rubra, Carya glabra, Acer saccharum, Acer rubrum, and Fagus grandifolia present mostly in the subcanopy layers. At least ten shrubs co-occur in this stand, and Eurybia divaricata and Dryopteris marginalis dominate the herb layer. Bedrock outcrops at the lower edge of the plot, and shallow soils may influence the vegetation at this site. The environmental setting and floristic composition are similar to plots TURK017, 018, and 019.
