This concave, SE-facing slope supports a floristically rich, dry-mesic forest in which three hickories (Carya ovalis, Carya glabra, and Carya alba) are all prominent in mixed stands with Quercus rubra, Quercus alba, and Liriodendron tulipifera. Although diverse, the herbaceous flora is notably sparse, apparently because of repeated, heavy grazing by white-tailed deer.
