Observation Narrative ? The vegetation in this plot occupies the back (inland) side of a low foredune and consists almost entirely of grasses. Growing conditions here are distinctly xeric, and the substrate consists of constantly shifting, fine, dry sand. As in most other similar foredune habitats, Ammophila breviligulata greatly predominates. Plot located on dunes at northern end of Wallops Island.
