Description: This alliance consists of woodlands of ~Cocos nucifera$, typically in maritime situations on sandy flats. ~Cocos nucifera$ generally forms an open canopy, and all natural and semi-natural ~Cocos nucifera$-dominated vegetation is placed in this alliance for now. In the southeastern United States, this alliance is limited to subtropical and tropical areas of southern Florida. It is very widespread in the Neotropics and Paleotropics.
