Description: This community occurs in depressional wetland, freshwater marshes with peaty soils in central and southern Florida. Panicum hemitomon is dominant. Other species may include Pontederia cordata, Typha latifolia, and others. These marshes occur where water depth is between 0.3 and 1 m, and hydroperiod extends more than 200 days per year.
