Description: Pinus edulis-dominated woodlands occur in the mountains of Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico, in the western-most tip of the Oklahoma panhandle, and possibly in western Texas. Associated species can include Juniperus monosperma, Juniperus osteosperma, Juniperus deppeana, Juniperus coahuilensis (= Juniperus erythrocarpa), Quercus arizonica, Cercocarpus montanus, Cercocarpus ledifolius, Arctostaphylos pungens, Artemisia tridentata, Rhus trilobata, Bouteloua gracilis, Andropogon hallii, Festuca arizonica, Muhlenbergia dubia, and others.
