Description: This alliance includes saturated, boggy vegetation characterized by Trichophorum caespitosum (= Scirpus cespitosus). Other typical components include Carex spp. Some of the associations placed here at this time are anomalous southern disjuncts, since this alliance reaches its greatest development and diversity in boreal and montane portions of the northern hemisphere.
